The MIS department is aware that some users are experiencing
a problem with how the Exchange system and Outlook is handling their Junk
E-Mail and they are diligently working to resolve this issue in a timely
manner.
When the system identifies an e-mail as SPAM, it inserts the
following text in the subject line - Subject: [SPAM] - Fw: <misc text> -
Bayesian Filter detected spam. If working correctly these e-mails should
then be directed to your ‘Junk E-Mail’ folder. Some users instead are having
these e-mails directed to their ‘Inbox’. If you are one of these users,
please do not forward these emails to
spam@usd259.net as they have already been identified as SPAM, they’re
just not being directed to the correct folder.
If this is happening to you, please follow these steps to
setup a ‘rule’ in Outlook so these junk e-mails will be directed to your
‘Junk E-Mail’ folder in the future. The following procedure is for Outlook
X/P. If you have a different version, the steps will vary slightly.
